The Republic of Moldova will access a 150 million euro credit from the EBRD for the reconstruction of roads
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will provide a loan of 150 million euros to improve the road infrastructure in the Republic of Moldova. The members of the Foreign Policy and European Integration Commission approved the advisory opinion on the initiation of negotiations for the conclusion of a loan agreement, reads a press release from the Legislative.
The financial resources will be used for the repair of two segments of road. Thus, sector 2 of the Chisinau city belt, which is about seven kilometers long, will be repaired. The road will be widened and there will be four lanes of traffic. The authorities also plan to rehabilitate the road section that connects the border with Romania, Leușeni, Chisinau, Dubasari and the border with Ukraine. It has a length of 85 kilometers, reads the cited source.
We remind that the loan that will be granted by the EBRD covers half of the total costs of the project. The other part of the amount was contracted from the European Investment Bank.
The loan will be offered in two installments and the credit will be repaid by 2042.
