In the last two years, the Republic of Moldova has taken decisive steps towards European integration, and in the coming years the authorities aim to build European villages and cities, President Maia Sandu told the residents of Călărași and Ungheni towns.

The head of state emphasized that with the approach to the community bloc, the volumes of resources and investments from the European Union will increase.

"For us it is important that our localities look good, whether we are talking about villages or cities. We make an effort including through the "European Village". We have allocated more resources for the development of localities. With every step we take closer to the European Union, the amount of resources, the amount of investment we can get from the European Union increases and we can speed up these processes of transforming our localities so that we can ensure basic living conditions , so that you want to stay in your localities, in the country", declared Maia Sandu.

We remind you that, on November 8, the European Commission recommended to the European Council the start of accession negotiations with the Republic of Moldova.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Chisinau, this recommendation results from the successful implementation of reforms and actions that have contributed to the resilience and strengthening of our country.

However, the final decision regarding the opening of accession negotiations will be taken at the European summit in December.
