Salome Zurabișvili: Georgia, Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova could enter the EU together
Georgia, Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova could enter the European Union together, said the leader from Tbilisi, Salome Zurabișvili, in an interview given to the French media, reports Rador.
"I think this will happen simultaneously. I don't know if it will happen in 2030, 2031 or 2029. But I think it will be "a big bang". The three of us - the Republic of Moldova, Ukraine and Georgia - will enter approximately at the same time", said Salome Zurabișvili. On November 8, the European Commission recommended the opening of accession negotiations for the Republic of Moldova, Ukraine and Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the granting of candidate country status to Georgia.
The European Commission reached this decision based on the assessment of the progress made by Kyiv and Chisinau in meeting the goals related to the reforms.
At its meeting on December 14-15, the European Council would adopt a decision on whether or not to start accession negotiations with the Republic of Moldova, Ukraine and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
