Maia Sandu: Our country must be ready at any moment for reunification
The Republic of Moldova must be ready at any moment for reunification. A faster victory of Ukraine in the war started by the Russian Federation could create an opportunity, President Maia Sandu said during the program "In Context" on Moldova 1 TV.
"In such periods of turbulence, opportunities may arise, certain crises may worsen, and we must be ready for all these scenarios. The government prepares these solutions for different scenarios. Things are happening very fast and this war has sped up several processes. Of course, we all want Ukraine to regain its territories as soon as possible, but it is very difficult to make forecasts. Unfortunately, we see that the war continues", declared Maia Sandu. The head of state also mentioned that a reintegration plan is being worked on, but any scenario assumes that the conflict can only be resolved through a peaceful solution. We remind you that previously the deputy prime minister for reintegration, Oleg Serebrian, stated that the Chisinau authorities are preparing a new plan for the reintegration of the Transnistrian region, and the role of Romania and the European Union in the negotiation process should increase, considering the European path of the Republic of Moldova.
