The Republic of Moldova is committed to fulfilling its promises in justice field to the EU, Igor Grosu
The Republic of Moldova will overcome the difficulties in the judiciary and will fulfill its commitments in the field, assumed towards the European Union - the appointment of the new members, who promoted the vetting, in the bodies of judicial self-government, in the prosecutor's office, including the Prosecutor General, said the Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu in the show on Vocea Basarabiei.
"Those who want to team up with the citizens who want to be part of the European space, please organize, mobilize. It will be the conclusions of the evaluation commission, it means that the General Assembly of Prosecutors must be convened soon and those who passed the evaluation must be elected by the prosecutors and appointed to the Superior Council of Prosecutors. It is a technical commitment, which will later have to produce the effect of changes in the system, but it will take time and the Europeans understand that. You can't set up a new institution, that doesn't automatically mean that the whole system has been rebuilt", said Igor Grosu.
We mention that, yesterday, the Deputy Prime Minister Nicu Popescu declared that the Republic of Moldova fulfilled 94 percent of the European Commission's conditionality in order to open accession negotiations to the community bloc. Among the measures to be implemented, the head of Moldovan diplomacy mentioned ensuring a transparent process in the appointment of the members, who passed the vetting, in the bodies of judicial and prosecutorial self-governance, including the Prosecutor General.
The second priority relates to the allocation of the necessary resources to the Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Moldova, and the third is aimed at de-oligarchization, including by means of regulations related to cash payments and financial flows.
We remind you that, on November 8, the European Commission recommended the European Council to start accession negotiations with the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine. The final decision will be taken by the member states at the European Council meeting on December 14-15.
