EBRD will grant a loan to the Ukrainian company Naftogaz to increase energy security
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will grant a loan of 200 million euros to the Ukrainian company Naftogaz, in order to increase Ukraine's energy security, reads a statement of the institution (EBRD).
An agreement to this effect was signed in Kiev, so the entity is going to build strategic gas reserves in the current cold season.
The signing of the loan follows an agreement reached in June between Kyiv and the EBRD for a 600 million euro financing package to strengthen energy security. According to the agreement, 200 million euros will be allocated for Naftogaz, Ukrenergo and Ukr-hydro-energo.
