Deputy-chairman of the Republic of Moldova calls for combating Russian propaganda within the framework of the Central European Initiative
The member countries of the Central European Initiative must have among their priorities the fight against propaganda from the Russian Federation, which represents a major threat to all countries in the region, said at the meeting of the Assembly on the parliamentary dimension of the Central European Initiative, the deputy chairman of the Republic of Moldova, Mihai Popșoi.
In his opinion, propaganda, more often divides our societies.
"In the situation where propaganda aims to divide our societies, we must identify a common response, an effort for effective cooperation, exchange knowledge and experiences in combating and deterring in time. Also, we must expand economic cooperation and maintain human-to-human communication. The Republic of Moldova was and remains open for bilateral and multilateral cooperation in the format of the Central European initiative. The Republic of Moldova, as well as other countries in the region, is going through difficult times, but with the help of international partners and the solid support of the citizens, we will overcome any challenge we face", said Mihai Popșoi.
We remind that, throughout this year, the Republic of Moldova held the presidency of the Central European Initiative, of which it has been a member since 1996. The meeting of foreign ministers from the Initiative's member countries took place in Chisinau last week.
