Ministry of Internal Affairs launched a road safety campaign

The information campaign "Safe roads in Moldova 2023-2024, MAI safe in traffic" was launched today in Chisinau, with the aim of raising awareness among citizens regarding compliance with traffic rules, making traffic participants responsible and preventing road accidents, reports the Ministry of the Interior (MAI).

The event was launched on the territory of the parking lot of the Technical University of Moldova, several activities were organized to increase the awareness of the population in terms of road safety. The Minister of Internal Affairs, Adrian Efros, said that traffic safety starts with each of us.

For her part, UNICEF Moldova Country Representative, Maha Damaj, emphasized that improving traffic safety will contribute to the development of physical activities, active travel, independence and their well-being. According to statistical data, in 11 months of the current year, 1,810 road traffic accidents were recorded, as a result of which 183 people died, and 2,077 suffered various injuries.
