Israeli army expands operations in Gaza, civilian casualties rise

According to a report from News.ro, incidents over the weekend in Iraq and the Red Sea suggest a broader regional conflict. The Israeli army spokesperson, Daniel Hagari, stated, "The Israeli army continues to expand its ground operation against Hamas throughout the Gaza Strip, targeting areas where Hamas has strongholds."
Since October 27, Israeli soldiers have been engaged in a ground offensive in the northern part of the Gaza Strip, gaining control over multiple sectors. Following the end of a week-long ceasefire with Hamas on Friday, the military has primarily focused on aerial raids.
During the night, an attack on the entrance of the Kamal Adwan hospital in northern Gaza resulted in multiple casualties, as reported by the Palestinian agency Wafa. In response, the Hamas government accused the Israeli army of a "serious violation" of international humanitarian law.
The Hamas Health Ministry reported on Sunday evening that 15,523 people, comprising 70% women and children, have been killed since the start of Israeli bombardments in Gaza. These airstrikes were initiated in response to the violent attack by the Palestinian Islamist movement on Israel on October 7.
