In our country, the second case of measles was confirmed in a three-year-old child from Soroca town. The Ministry of Health notes that the little boy, recently returned with his family from the Russian Federation, was not vaccinated against this infection. The minor's parents requested medical assistance after the appearance of symptoms characteristic of the disease.
Meanwhile, in Romania the Ministry of Health has declared a measles epidemic, following the "alarming" increase in the number of cases, to make it easier to vaccinate children. At the moment, almost 2,000 cases are registered in Romania in 29 counties. Vaccination coverage with the first dose in the neighboring country is 78%, and with the second dose - 62% of eligible children.
