Another six Moldovans will be evacuated from the Gaza Strip with a military aircraft from Romania
Another six Moldovans and 29 Romanians will be evacuated today, December 6, from the Gaza Strip, with a military aircraft. The announcement was made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) of Romania. According to the Romanian authorities, nine children are among the evacuees. The aircraft will land around 16:00 at Base 90 in Otopeni, according to Digi24.
From there, they will be taken over by the Romanian authorities, and after several checks, some of them will be accommodated in two hotels in Bucharest, and others will be reunited with their families in the country.
The Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs continues the dialogue with the Israeli and Egyptian authorities in order to facilitate the evacuation of the other citizens, depending on the evolution of the situation and the agreement of the parties involved.
The MAE points out that the security situation in the region remains complex and volatile, which implies the constant adaptation of evacuation plans, depending on the factors on the ground, so that the safety of evacuees is not put at risk. To date, 249 Romanian citizens and their family members have been evacuated from the Gaza Strip.
We remind you that, this November, another 45 Moldovans were evacuated from the Gaza Strip. According to the MAEIE, the evacuation action was possible with the support of the Romanian authorities and Ukrainian partners.
