Pre-Vetting Commission rejects three CSP candidates

The Pre-Vetting Commission announced on December 8, 2023, that Vitalie Codreanu, Cristina Gladcov, and Anatolie Gîrbu did not pass the re-evaluation for the position of member of the Superior Council of Prosecutors (CSP).

In a press release, the Commission stated that the decisions were made after a "multi-faceted, complete, and objective investigation" and were sent to the three candidates and the CSP. Candidates have the right to appeal the decisions to the Supreme Court of Justice (SCJ) within five days.

The re-evaluation process was initiated following decisions by the SCJ on August 1, 2023, which annulled 21 initial decisions by the Pre-Vetting Commission and ordered their re-evaluation. One non-judge candidate for the CSM position withdrew from the competition during this process.

Currently, the Commission is conducting re-evaluations for 17 CSM candidates and one non-prosecutor candidate for the CSP. Three requests to challenge initial evaluation decisions are also pending before the SCJ.
