Premier Mohammad Shtayyeh discusses Gaza's future with US officials
In an ongoing collaboration, the Palestinian Authority is working with American officials to devise a plan for administering the Gaza Strip post-war, as reported by news.ro.
This initiative follows a visit by American officials to Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh earlier this week, where discussions revolved around the post-Gaza conflict scenario, as disclosed by an official in an interview with Bloomberg News.
Both parties have concurred that Israel should refrain from reoccupying the Gaza Strip, establishing a buffer zone, or displacing Palestinians, asserted the Palestinian Prime Minister.
Israel has pledged to eliminate the Hamas movement, backed by Iran, following attacks by Islamist militants on Israeli towns and villages on October 7, resulting in the death of 1,200 individuals and the abduction of approximately 240 hostages taken to Gaza, according to Israel's tally.
The toll on the Palestinian side has been devastating, with over 17,170 killed and 46,000 injured since Israel initiated airstrikes on Gaza in response to the cross-border attack, according to the Gaza Health Ministry.
