Four heliports for SMURD helicopters are built in the Republic of Moldova

The four heliports intended for SMURD medical helicopters are built and are functional, announced the Minister of the Interior Adrian Efros in the show "La 360 de grade" on Radio Moldova. According to the official, the money was allocated from a cross-border project with Romania.

"The heliports are built with the money of the European Union and are implemented together with Romania through the SMURD 2022 program. Thus, through this program, we have trained our abilities to provide this support in emergency situations and not only on the territory of the Republic of Moldova, but also across the border. The tracks are functional, if necessary we can use them".

We remind you that two of the four heliports are built in Chisinau and by one in Balti and Cahul. The Republic of Moldova cannot afford to have its own SMURD helicopter for now, so the ones from Romania are still used. According to the press officer of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations, the heliports were launched in October this year, and no SMURD operation has been carried out since then.
