The Republic of Moldova enjoys the support of all EU member states in the process of enlargement and reforms, statement
The Republic of Moldova is the only country among those targeted in the expansion of the European Union that enjoys the support of all member states, the executive director of the Institute for European Policies and Reforms, Iulian Groza, told Radio Moldova.
According to him, the ad hoc appearance in the agenda of the meeting in Brussels today and tomorrow of the phrase enlargement and reforms, means that all the countries aspiring to the accession are to be re-evaluated.
"If we look at the agenda of the European Council, we will see that an updated agenda appeared overnight, and reforms were also included in the expansion point. Expansion and reforms will be the subject of discussion at council level which will have to result in a decision. It is clear that the Republic of Moldova is the only candidate country that enjoys the support of all member states. From the information we have from Brussels, but also from other capitals, it shows that the respective decisions are supported by all the member states, the European Commission, the European Parliament", stated Iulian Groza.
Iulian Groza also mentioned that at this stage, the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine cannot be disconnected.
We remind that initially in the agenda of the summit it was mentioned that only the enlargement process would be discussed, but before the start of the meeting the aspect of the reforms was included.
