Meteorologists warn: Abnormal temperatures are recorded in the Republic of Moldova for this period
The thermal value in the north of the country yesterday exceeded the climatological norm by 11 degrees, forecaster Natalia Shkarevnea told Radio Moldova. According to the representative of the State Hydrometeorological Service (SHS), the highest temperature in January was in 1971. Then the thermal value exceeded the climatological norm by 13 degrees.
"Yesterday, there were extreme temperatures, they exceeded the climatological norm in the north of the country by about 11 degrees. The capital of the country, plus 10 degrees exceeded the climatological norm, the south of the country around seven degrees. We cannot say if it is a record, in 1971, we had an excess of the norm of approximately plus 13 degrees and obviously this is not a new record. In 2005, on January 8-9, temperatures exceeded 11-12 degrees. In 2021, on January 7, at the weather station in Tiraspol, it exceeded by 10 degrees", noted Natalia Shkarevnea.
Natalia Shkarevnea added that precipitation was possible in the coming days, and the air temperature would also be positive.
