2024 Grants Program for youth organizations was launched
The Ministry of Education and Research announced the launch of the 2024 Grants Program for youth organizations. The expected budget for next year is 10 million lei. The National Agency for Youth is responsible for these projects implementation. The program is dedicated to the support and development of the youth sector in the Republic of Moldova, through which logistical and financial support will be offered, on a tender basis, for the implementation of youth initiatives, programs and projects, thereby strengthening cooperation with civil society.
The projects of next year's edition of the Grants Program for youth organizations will be selected on a competitive basis, and non-commercial youth centers can register on the platform, said the director of the National Youth Agency, Ion Donea. He said that the maximum budget for projects is 200 thousand lei for local ones, 400 thousand –for regional projects and 600 thousand lei – for national projects.
"An innovative element that has been proposed for next year's grant program is the awarding of projects that are sub-grant-based, which means that if we have some very consistent applications to experienced organizations that have previously secured regulations or sub-grants to other organizations, but which will contribute to strengthening the institutional and human capacities of other youth organizations, will be able to access this funding line and can request up to one million lei", declared Ion Donea.
Ion Donea said that in 2023, 31 projects with a total value of 10 million lei were financed under this program. According to him, 90 percent of the localities in the country were covered by these projects.
