Moldovan bikers deliver Santa cheer
The streets of Chișinău, Moldova, reverberated with holiday spirit on Sunday as dozens of motorcyclists, transformed into Santas on two wheels, embarked on their annual mission: bringing pre-Christmas joy to local children.
This year marks the 11th iteration of the heartwarming tradition, organised by the Moldovan Motorcycle Community.
The festive journey began at the Palace of Culture of the Railway Workers, where eager anticipation filled the air as youngsters gathered to greet the spectacle. Partnering with the Palace, the Centru sector office, and an association, the motorcyclists arrived not only in jolly costumes but also bearing gifts – bags brimming with candy and toys, ready to fuel smiles and excitement.
As the parade roared to life, a procession of Santas on motorcycles snaked through the city streets, culminating in a grand finale at the Great National Assembly Square. The sight, a unique blend of festive cheer and rumbling engines, captivated onlookers of all ages.
Driven by a desire to ignite holiday joy in young hearts, organisers expressed their unwavering commitment to the tradition.
"We gather here every year to create a special pre-Christmas moment for the children," one organiser told Moldova 1. "We take them on motorcycle rides, share gifts, and simply give them a beautiful day to remember."
The success of their mission was evident in the infectious laughter and wide-eyed wonder of the children lining the streets. The rumble of motorcycles may have faded, but the echoes of joy reverberated throughout Chișinău, carried by the spirit of this unique festive tradition.
