Lilia Dabija appointed deputy secretary-general: Government update
In a recent development, Lilia Dabija, former Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development, has been appointed Deputy Secretary-General of the Government.
The Cabinet of Ministers officially approved her appointment during a session, and she is set to commence her duties on January 9.
Dabija took over the role of Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development in February 2023, following the appointment of Prime Minister Dorin Recean. Prior to this, starting from December 2021, she held the position of Deputy Secretary-General at the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development. According to the government's decision, Dabija was reassigned to the role of Deputy Secretary-General on July 17, and shortly thereafter, she concluded her activities based on a resignation request.
With a background as an expert in various international organisations, including the World Bank and the United States Agency for International Development, Lilia Dabija brings a wealth of experience to her new role.
Simultaneously, Artiom Jucov has been appointed as the Director-General of the National Anti-Doping Agency, with his mandate spanning four years, as per the Cabinet's decision.
Meanwhile, Ion Iordache, the Deputy Director-General at the Investment Agency, has been notified of his impending removal from office following the institution's restructuring. Notably, Iordache was appointed to this position by the government in August 2020.
