Merit scholarships for 50 Roma pupils and students

The Ministry of Education and Research will grant merit scholarships, worth 1,200 lei per month, for 50 Roma pupils and students. The scholarships will be paid starting in January 2024, and the beneficiaries were selected based on a competition launched by the Interethnic Relations Agency.

"Unfortunately, we have an insufficient number of young Roma people who continue their studies after the 9th grade. Thus, in order to support those who want to study, we launched, together with colleagues from the Parliament, this program", says Minister Dan Perciun.

The scholarships were allocated to the following education levels:

High school education – 21 scholarships; Secondary technical education – 5 scholarships; Post-secondary technical education – 12 scholarships; Higher education – 12 scholarships.

Pupils and students studying in the fields of economics, technology, agriculture, pedagogy, journalism, international relations, law and others are candidates for merit scholarships.
