Wizz Air has not canceled its flights from Chisinau International Airport. Specifications of the Civil Aeronautical Authority
The low-cost airline Wizz Air, which returned to Chisinau International Airport two weeks ago, does not cancel its flights to and from Chisinau, informs the Civil Aviation Authority (AAC). The announcement was made following the spread of erroneous information on some Telegram channels and some news sites, such as that, starting from January 15, 2024, the private operator is canceling its flights operated in the Republic of Moldova.
"Regarding the information distributed in the public space regarding the possible cancellation of flights operated in the Republic of Moldova, the Civil Aeronautical Authority informs that no air operator has canceled flights from and to Chisinau. In the case of a private operator, a technical error occurred in the booking system, which will be fixed shortly", reads the AAC press release.
The company states that this confusion occurred due to the change of the airport code in Chisinau, from KIV to RMO.
Wizz Air returned to the Republic of Moldova in December 2023, after in March last year it suspended its flights from Chisinau International Airport under the pretext of airspace security risks.
