The famous Romanian actor Mitică Popescu died at the age of 86
He had been hospitalised for some time at the Elias hospital in Bucharest, for the treatment of several ailments, TVR reports.
Mitică Popescu was born in 1936, in Bucharest. His mother wanted him to become a priest, but Mitică Popescu went to the Faculty of Theater and became an actor.
Many years after that, his father kept asking him when he was going to look for "a job".
An actor with special charm, awarded with numerous awards, he played in dozens of plays and films, performing complex creations – dramatic, comedic, musical.
Mitică Popescu was decorated on December 13, 2002 with the National Order of Faithful Service in the rank of Knight, "for the devotion and artistic grace put in the service of the Romanian theater, on the occasion of the completion of a century and a half of existence of the National Theater in Bucharest".
