Moldova's Sandu honoured for European vision in Romania
Moldovan President Maia Sandu will head to Timișoara, Romania, on January 12-13, 2024, to receive the inaugural "Timișoara for European Values" Award.
The prize recognizes her unwavering commitment to upholding European ideals both within Moldova and on the international stage.
"President Sandu embodies the spirit of this award," stated Timișoara Mayor Dominic Fritz in a welcoming message. "Her dedication to democratic principles and European integration serves as a beacon for many."
Sandu expressed her appreciation for the recognition, saying, "This award serves as a validation of the Moldovan people's continued aspiration towards a future rooted in European values."
