From December 1st, Moldova will procure cheaper electricity from Romania
The SA "Energocom" will procure electricity from the Romanian company "Hidroelectrica" from December 1st at the price of 450 Romanian lei or the equivalent of 90 euros.
This price is 2.5 times lower than the price of one megawatt-hour, paid in November. According to "Energocom", in the current month, our country purchased electricity from the Romanian stock market at the weighted average price of 231 euros.
The energy supplier specified that, from December, the volume of electricity procured from Romania based on bilateral contracts will increase to 5,100 MWh on working days and 5,800 MWh on weekends from the daily requirement of approximately 10,000 MWh.
At the same time, for Wednesday, November 30, in addition to the bilateral contracts, SA "Energocom" purchased more than 8,800 MWh of electricity from the OPCOM exchange, respectively, there is no deficit.
