Thousands of drivers, fined by the police over the weekend
Over 2,100 drivers were fined last weekend by patrol inspectors after they violated the Road Traffic Regulations. Most of them, 1049 drivers were fined for overspeeding.
Another 17 drivers were fined for drunkdriving, the Police informs in a statement.
90 drivers were fined for not wearing a seat belt and talking on the phone, and 524 drivers were fined for not obeying traffic signs.
Also, 121 drivers were driving a vehicle that was not subject to the annual technical inspection and/or lacked the RCA insurance policy.
Another 358 drivers stopped in prohibited places.
