Icy mayhem: 40 Crashes in Chisinau in 2 hours
In a Tuesday report, Chisinau, Moldova's police department disclosed a staggering 40 car accidents within a mere two-hour timeframe, attributing the surge to treacherous icy roads.
A police statement revealed that out of the total accidents, 39 resulted in property damage, with one unfortunate incident causing minor injuries to an individual.
Earlier, Chisinau City Hall had pointed out the adverse impact of current weather conditions on the circulation of trolleybuses and buses, citing the formation of ice on various road segments as a primary concern.
City officials stated, "The most complex situations are unfolding on sidewalks, staircases leading to certain courtyards, and on inclined streets. Consequently, some public transport routes are experiencing delays in their schedules along key traffic arteries."
