Zelensky blames Russia for global conflicts at Davos
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky delivered a stark message at the World Economic Forum in Davos on Tuesday, blaming Russia for fueling conflicts around the world and declaring that "one man has stolen at least 13 years of peace."
"Vladimir Putin represents war," Zelensky asserted. "He is the singular reason why so many wars and conflicts plague the globe, and why all attempts to bring peace have failed."
The Ukrainian leader further argued that Putin's desire for perpetual war necessitates a firm international response. "He will not change," Zelensky warned. "It is upon us, the international community, to intervene and put an end to his endless war ambitions."
While Zelensky painted a stark picture of Putin's influence, he expressed optimism on the future of Ukraine's European support. "I am confident that the European Union will continue to stand by Ukraine," he stated.
Throughout the day, Zelensky engaged in high-level diplomacy, meeting with key figures like NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen. Discussions focused on bolstering Ukraine's defence capabilities and solidifying ties with the EU in the near future.
Zelensky's Davos address marks a bold foray onto the global stage, highlighting Ukraine's continued fight against Russian aggression while seeking unwavering international support.
