New American-British attacks in Yemen
The Houthi rebels announced on Thursday that the American and British forces launched a fourth round of strikes in Yemen, assuring at the same time that they will continue their attacks on ships in the Red Sea, reports Agerpres.ro.
The American-British aggression targeted the governorates of Hodeida, Taiz, Dhamar, Al-Bayda and Saada, al-Masirah channel reported.
"We will continue to target ships heading to ports in occupied Palestine, regardless of US-British aggression that tries to prevent us from doing so," a Houthi official said.
These rebels, who have been at war for nearly a decade against the Yemeni government, target commercial ships with ties to Israel off Yemen's coast, in the Red Sea and in the Gulf of Aden. Actions they say they are carrying out in solidarity with Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, a territory bombed and besieged by the Israeli army after the unprecedented attack by Hamas on October 7.
The increase in attacks by the Houthi rebels prompted a response from US and British strikes, which hit nearly 30 targets in Yemen last week.
The US military said late on Wednesday it had hit 14 Houthi rebels' missiles on the ground in Yemen to "protect" shipping in the region, the fourth Western attack in the past week.
