Over 18,000 citizens requested an ambulance last week
About 18,400 citizens, including approximately 4,100 children, needed the help of doctors last week, the Pre-Hospital Emergency Medical Assistance Service announces in a press release. Only on the first day of the current year, more than 3000 ambulance calls were registered, of which more than 1000 were people with respiratory diseases.
According to the data, between December 26, 2022 and January 1, 2023, almost 1,160 people, including about 150 children, needed medical care after suffering injuries. Also, last week, doctors were requested for 75 patients who suffered in road accidents. Also, more than 80 requests were registered at the Emergency Service due to infectious emergencies and about 40 due to poisoning, including drugs, alcohol and carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide poisoning.
