The year 2030 is a realistic deadline for the Republic of Moldova to become a member of the European Union, said the Parliament Speaker , Igor Grosu, in an interview for Digi24.
According to the official, our country has several advantages in this regard, including the support of foreign partners.
"Analyzing the dynamics of the changes taking place in the region, in Eastern Europe, in the European Union, we must be prepared to keep up with these changes, and the last two years have shown us that it is possible. In 2022 we obtained the status of a candidate country. In December 2023, we opened accession negotiations. It largely depends on us, how quickly we will mobilize, how well we will be organized, and then I think that this term can also be close. We have several advantages, we are not a very big country, we are lucky to be neighbors of the European Union, to have Romania by our side", declared Igor Grosu.
We remind you that, on December 14, 2023, the European Council decided to launch negotiations for our country's accession to the European Union. Currently, the process of adjusting the national legislation to the acquis communautaire is taking place.
