In a landmark move, legal chiefs from Moldova, Romania, and Ukraine met this week to harmonise Moldova’s and Ukraine’s EU accession paths, focusing on critical justice reforms.

Hosted by the Romanian Parliament, the three-day dialogue marks a major step towards aligning their legal systems with EU standards.

"Sharing best practices and experiences in judicial reform is crucial to our collective EU aspirations," remarked Igor Grosu, Moldova's Parliament Speaker. The agenda delves deep into key areas like rule of law, judicial independence, and anti-corruption measures, culminating in a joint declaration on collaborative justice efforts.

High-profile attendees include Grosu, Romanian Senate Vice President Virgil Guran, and Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada Speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk, signifying the commitment of all three nations to this historic initiative. With its focus on strengthening their legal frameworks, this meeting paves the way for a smoother EU accession journey for both Moldova and Ukraine.
