According to the official, the European Commission will make a proposal for a negotiation framework that will be adopted by the member states of the community space, most likely in March.

"Our objective, of the European Union, is for the negotiations to officially begin before the European Parliament elections in June, so that afterwards, during the campaign period, experts and diplomats can negotiate and make progress. These days, the Government of the Republic of Moldova appoints its chief negotiator for the negotiations of the Republic of Moldova, who will probably start his work on Monday. The Republic of Moldova is ready for negotiations, the European Union as well. I think that the last decisions will be made in March and the negotiations will start before the European Parliament elections", said Siegfried Mureșan.

We remind you that the Republic of Moldova submitted an application for accession to the European Union in March 2022 and was granted the status of a candidate country in June 2022. In December 2023, the leaders of the community area decided to open accession negotiations.
