Moldova, Ukraine seek peaceful end in Transnistria stalemate
Moldova and Ukraine reaffirmed their commitment to a peaceful resolution of the Transnistria conflict during a joint press conference on Monday.
The meeting between Vice Prime Minister for Reintegration Oleg Serebrian and Ukrainian Ambassador with Special Missions Păun Rohovei focused on the stalled negotiations and ongoing tensions.
Serebrian acknowledged the difficulties in the peace process, highlighting the lack of progress in negotiations and accusations of "provocations" from Tiraspol. He emphasised Moldova's unwavering commitment to a peaceful solution and its desire to gradually reintegrate the breakaway region.
Rohovei echoed Serebrian's sentiment, reiterating Ukraine's unwavering support for Moldova's sovereignty and territorial integrity. He pledged Ukraine's assistance in pursuing a diplomatic resolution through negotiations and expressed readiness to counter any destabilising actions from Transnistria.
