The Republic of Moldova should have a general prosecutor in office to ensure the stability of the judicial system, head of the Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office
The Republic of Moldova should have a general prosecutor in office, but not an interim one, to give stability to the entire judicial system, said the head of the Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office, Veronica Dragalin, on PRO TV.
"We have a very good cooperation with the General Prosecutor's Office, from the point of view of supporting the General Prosecutor's Office and the general prosecutor for the strengthening of the Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office and other important things. Other people say that we should have one person in office because that gives stability to the whole prosecution system. It must be a person who has a mandate of seven years, all of us, as prosecutors, want the contest to go as quickly as possible and a general prosecutor to be selected", said Veronica Dragalin.
We remind that the election of the general prosecutor is one of the nine commitments assumed by the authorities in Chisinau for the start of the accession negotiations to the European Union.
The deadline for submitting files for the position of general prosecutor has ended, and six people are applying for this position.
