Canada will provide support to the Republic of Moldova in all key areas, including security and defense, said Ottawa's Foreign Minister, Mélanie Joly, during a meeting with Prime Minister Dorin Recean. Moreover, she mentioned that her country supports the democratic and European course of the Republic of Moldova.

Prime Minister Dorin Recean emphasized that the authorities remain focused on modernizing the infrastructure, ensuring peace and security, reforming the judiciary and the economic recovery of the country, including by attracting new investments, reads a Government statement. The official referred to projects related to the energy efficiency of public buildings with a social purpose, including kindergartens, hospitals and schools, the realization of the projects necessary for the interconnection of natural gas and electricity networks in the Republic of Moldova, Romania and Ukraine, as well as the rehabilitation of regional roads.

Dorin Recean appreciated the cooperation of the authorities from both countries in the implementation of the regime of international sanctions against individuals and legal entities, which undermine the rule of law and the security of our country. In this vein, they established a continuous coordination of joint efforts in this direction.

We remind you that for two days, Canada's foreign minister, Mélanie Joly, is making a working visit to our country.
