According to the minister, the pre-feasibility study will be completed this year, and the feasibility study will be ready by the end of 2025.

These documents provide for the collection of information and data regarding the current situation of the road infrastructure, the intensity of the planned traffic and the economic evaluation. Geographical points and the main technical parameters of the highway will also be defined.

"The construction of the highway is a project of national importance. The Ungheni-Chisinau-Odesa highway will connect the regional economic and industrial centers of the three countries, will facilitate trade, economic and social development, and the Republic of Moldova will be closer to the EU, also at the infrastructure level", Andrei Spînu wrote on a social network.

The construction of the highway is one of the national projects of the Moldova Infrastructure Reconstruction Plan 5+.
