Vadim Ceban: The right bank of the Nistru could get Russian gas in the spring
From this spring, the right bank of the Nistru could return to Russian gas. The statement was made by the president of the board of directors of Moldovagaz, Vadim Ceban, on a show on TV8.
The president of the board of directors of Moldovagaz, Vadim Ceban, said that because the state of emergency is no longer valid, the company must buy natural gas based on a tender.
"The contract with Energocom expires on April 30. From May, most likely, we will resume gas deliveries from Gazprom, of course if the price is favorable, according to the provisions of the 2021 agreement. Usually, in the summer we spend up to 1.2 million cubic meters per day . Thus, there will be approximately 4.4 million cubic meters on the left bank and 1.2 million per day on the right bank", said Vadim Ceban.
Recently, the Minister of Energy, Victor Parlicov, announced that if the prices are more competitive than on the international market, then the Republic of Moldova could purchase natural gas from the Russian concern Gazprom.
We remind you that, from 2022, the Republic of Moldova began to buy natural gas in advance and store it in warehouses in Romania and Ukraine, after the Russian company Gazprom reduced the amount delivered to Chisinau to 5.7 million cubic meters per day. The entire amount of natural gas was redirected to the left side of the Nistru in exchange for electricity.
