Recep Tayyip Erdoğan discussed the mediation of the conflict between Kiev and Moscow with Volodymyr Zelenski
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, during a telephone conversation with the Ukrainian leader, Volodymyr Zelensky offered to mediate the settlement of the conflict between Kiev and Moscow, informs Rador.
According to Anadolu News Agency, the Turkish president announced his readiness to take on the role of moderator and mediator to ensure a stable peace between Ukraine and the Russian Federation. The leaders of the two countries also discussed yesterday the situation regarding the corridor created for the export of Ukrainian grains from the Black Sea and the readiness of the authorities in Ankara to help "accelerate the process" regarding the situation at the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant.
As stated by the source, yesterday Recep Tayyip Erdoğan also spoke by phone with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin. Moscow has announced that it was ready for an open dialogue with Ukraine, but on the condition that Kiev meets the requirements proposed by Moscow and takes into account the "new territorial realities".
The Turkish president, for his part, noted that calls for negotiations should be backed by a "unilateral ceasefire."
