President Maia Sandu participated today in the Gala Awards for Environmental Journalism. The head of state expressed her appreciation for journalists who cover with professionalism on topics about environment.

Moreover, the president thanked the media representatives for the way they publicized the National Afforestation Program and urged them to write about the new afforestation campaign, which will be launched this spring, this year as well.

Also, Maia Sandu emphasized the importance of environmental journalism in the context of the European integration of the Republic of Moldova.

The head of state mentioned that the implementation of the EU's environmental policy requires the adoption of strict rigors in areas such as waste management, but also effective measures for the protection of drinking water, soil and air.
