Moldova Mulls EU Referendum: President Sandu Meets Diplomats
Moldovan President Maia Sandu hosted ambassadors from EU member states and representatives from Canada, Switzerland, Japan, UK, Norway, US, and Ukraine for discussions on the country's current situation, its progress towards EU integration, and the proposed referendum on EU membership.

Emphasising her administration's commitment to reform, Sandu reiterated, "We will continue the reforms initiated to increase the well-being of citizens and ensure the rule of law," as quoted by the presidency.
This meeting comes after Sandu's request to Parliament for a referendum on EU accession. Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu confirmed on February 1st that the referendum will be held alongside the presidential elections, and its date will be determined soon.
