Romania Backs Moldova's EU Integration: Gherasimov

Moldova's Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Cristina Gherasimov, met with the President of the Romanian Senate, Nicolae Ciucă, in Bucharest to discuss the country's European path and its progress in the accession process.

"I underlined that the membership of the great family of the European Union is the zero priority of the authorities in Chişinău and we will continue to work so that this objective becomes a reality as soon as possible," said Gherasimov.

The official also thanked Romania for its unconditional support, including in obtaining the positive vote for the launch of accession negotiations.

"We received a strong message of support for our European path, but also assurances that Romania will continue to be alongside the Republic of Moldova," the Deputy Prime Minister added.
