Moldova: First Supreme Court Judge Passes Vetting
Aliona Miron has become the first sitting judge of the Supreme Court of Justice (CSJ) to pass the external evaluation of ethical and financial integrity, the Ministry of Justice announced on Wednesday.
Miron, who has been a CSJ judge since September 2020, was accepted by the Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM) after successfully completing the vetting process.
The Vetting Commission, established at the end of last year, conducts three types of evaluations:
- Vetting of candidates for the Supreme Court of Justice
- Pre-vetting of candidates for the position of member of the Superior Council of Magistracy, registered in the competition after September 1, 2023, and in the two colleges of the CSM
- Vetting of judges of the Courts of Appeal and presidents and vice-presidents of courts
