The Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Cristina Gherasimov, is on a working visit to Brussels

The Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Cristina Gherasimov, will pay a working visit to Brussels, on February 21-22. The Moldovan official will be accompanied by colleagues from the Ministry of Justice and other related institutions, responsible for the analysis of EU legislation in the field of justice and fundamental rights.

As part of the visit, Deputy Prime Minister Cristina Gherasimov will have meetings with the European Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement, Oliver Varhelyi, and the Director General of the General Directorate for Neighborhood and Enlargement Negotiations, Gert Jan Koopman.

We remind that on February 7, in Brussels, the process of evaluating the degree of conformity of national legislation with that of the European Union was started. The delegation of the Republic of Moldova was led by the deputy prime minister for European integration, Cristina Gherasimov.

We remind you that the Republic of Moldova submitted an application for accession to the European Union in March 2022 and was granted the status of a candidate country in June 2022. In December 2023, the leaders of the community space decided to open accession negotiations.
