The Republic of Moldova needs at least one more radar for the security of the country, statement

The Republic of Moldova needs at least one more radar to ensure the country's security, Adrian Cheptonar, member of the Parliamentary Commission for National Security, Defense and Public Order, said on Rlive TV.

"It is not a coverage range throughout the territory of the Republic of Moldova and the Ukrainians have many radars of this type, they are mobile so that their destruction can be avoided. There is a specific type of attack missiles, the Russians also have them, a missile that comes within the range of an anti-aircraft radar is focused on the radar and one hundred percent will hit a radar as a type of missile wherever it is. We need at least two of this configuration", said Adrian Cheptonar.

We remind you that, recently, the Minister of Defense, Anatolie Nosatîi, declared on Radio Free Europe that the Republic of Moldova will buy a second high-performance aerial surveillance radar, which will arrive in the country in 2025. He said that the institution is also looking for a system of anti-aircraft defense.

Anatolie Nosatîi claims that it is to be procured from European funds, through the European Instrument for Peace and will be a high-performance one, which, together with the existing systems, will ensure a higher degree of security.

We remind that, at the end of last year, the Republic of Moldova obtained the first modern radar, manufactured by a French company and purchased from the state budget.
