In Tirana, Maia Sandu spoke about the importance of European unity in the face of security threats
Maia Sandu participated in the Ukraine - Southeast Europe Summit, hosted in Tirana by the Albanian government. President Sandu explained to international journalists that the priority of the Republic of Moldova is the peaceful integration of the Transnistrian region. The leader from Kiev, Volodymyr Zelensky, claims that Ukraine's allies must not give Putin a break, because he will change his tactics, destabilize the Baltic countries, the Balkans and the Republic of Moldova.
"The Republic of Moldova is safe thanks to the courage of Ukrainian soldiers. We are grateful to them. The Republic of Moldova is engaged in the peaceful settlement of the Transnistrian conflict. What the Government is doing today - these are small steps for the economic reintegration of the country. The Republic of Moldova is safe today. Ukraine needs support. Ukraine helps us to maintain peace", declared Maia Sandu.
Ukrainian President Zelensky and Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama concluded a friendship and cooperation agreement. "If we give him the opportunity to politically survive this aggression against us, Russia will change tactics, act against countries where it can achieve immediate success. That means the smaller countries. The Baltic States, the Republic of Moldova and the Balkans are under threat," Volodymyr Zelenski reported.
At the NATO summit in Vilnius, the allies pledged to guarantee security to Ukraine through bilateral agreements, so Albania is one more NATO country that followed the recommendation, after Romania, France, Germany and Great Britain.
