Mihail Popșoi warns that Russia will intensify its hybrid war and could influence the elections in the Republic of Moldova
The Russian Federation will continue the hybrid war in the Republic of Moldova this year as well, the Minister of Foreign Affairs from Chisinau, Mihai Popșoi, told Digi24.ro. According to him, the state institutions are prepared to face any challenges that may come from Russia in the next period.
"Certainly the Republic of Moldova remains a target of the Russian Federation and in the context of the presidential elections and the referendum related to the European integration process, we have already seen some time attempts to destabilize the situation, to promote certain narratives that are detrimental to the national interest and of the citizens of the Republic of Moldova. Certainly, there will be more such attempts, but our institutions, whether it is the Center for Strategic Communication, which will soon begin its activity, or other relevant institutions, including the Intelligence Service, become more resilient to combat these hybrid attacks and the state of the Republic of Moldova is in a better position than it was two years ago, when it was much more vulnerable", said Mihail Popșoi.
We remind you that the Chisinau authorities previously stated that the Republic of Moldova is facing a series of challenges specific to a hybrid war and attempts to destabilize the internal situation.
