Biden and Trump Set to Dominate Super Tuesday Showdown
Today marks an exceptionally significant day in the primary election calendar of the United States. Known as Super Tuesday, millions of voters from 15 states and one territory will select their presidential candidate from the two major parties: the Democratic Party and the Republican Party.
This is a crucial moment for all candidates in the race as the outcome will determine whether they advance further or withdraw. In the electoral calendar, this day can be likened to a Rubicon, as the results will determine whether candidates can confidently continue or if it's time to withdraw.
Despite concerns about his advanced age among voters, current President Joe Biden has won primaries in all states held so far, garnering a percentage that significantly surpasses that of his rivals, Congressman from Minnesota, Dean Phillips, and writer Marianne Williamson.
Perhaps Nikki Haley's decision to continue fighting has been influenced by Donald Trump's legal issues. For Nikki Haley, Super Tuesday will be decisive: either she remains in the race, or it's time to withdraw.
This decision follows Donald Trump's request to intervene in the dispute with the judges of this state, who ruled that he cannot return to the White House due to his involvement in acts of insurrection during the January 2021 attack on the Capitol. The decision to remove Trump from the ballot was also made in Maine and Illinois, but they will have to comply with yesterday's decision of the Supreme Court of the USA because it applies to all states; thus, Republican Donald Trump remains on the ballots.
It's worth mentioning that in polls conducted among American citizens regarding their preferred candidate for the presidential race, Donald Trump leads, surpassing current President Joe Biden by 2 and 5 percentage points, depending on the poll.
