EPP Congress in Bucharest: preparations for the June European Parliament elections
Today and tomorrow, in Bucharest, the Congress of the European People's Party is being held, one of the largest transnational political formations, represented in the Parliament of the European Union. The forum, which brings together more than 2,000 delegates from 40 countries, takes place in the context of the European Parliament elections in June.
The president of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, the head of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, heads of state and government, party leaders and European commissioners from the EPP are present at the event. Among the participants are the president of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu and the head of the Legislative from Chisinau Igor Grosu.
According to the MEP Siegfried Mureșan, the electoral manifesto of the European People's Party will be adopted today, which will form the basis of the political program for the European Parliament elections.
It is important to emphasize that the Political Assembly of the EPP in Bucharest recently approved the registration of Ursula von der Leyen in the competition for a new term as President of the European Commission.
