Authorities in Chisinau included the Russian Federation in the list of non-transparent countries
The government today approved the list of jurisdictions that do not implement international transparency standards. 75 states were included in the list, including the Russian Federation.
According to the Executive's decision, the Russian Federation appeared in this list because it is in the European Union's list of non-cooperative jurisdictions for tax purposes. At the same time, although in 2021 the Russian Federation was in the process of re-evaluation of the Global Forum of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), currently there is still no data on the finality of the evaluation in the given field.
According to the Ministry of Justice, this list will be used by public authorities, state enterprises and commercial companies with public capital to establish the conditions for participation in privatization procedures, public-private partnership, public procurement and concessions covered by the de-offshorization mechanism.
