Defiance of International Law: Moldova Protests Russian Voting Centers

Prime Minister Dorin Recean commented on the Republic of Moldova's decision to protest against the Russian Federation's opening of polling stations in the Transnistrian region.

He emphasised that the state will not tolerate violations in territories controlled by constitutional authorities.

"Everyone must respect the Republic of Moldova, and by doing so, its citizens," stated Prime Minister Dorin Recean.

It is worth mentioning that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) characterised the Russian Federation's decision as defying international law norms and principles and undermining the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Moldova.

The Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Chisinau, Oleg Vasnetsov, was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday, March 12th, where he was informed of the authorities' disapproval of the opening of Russian Federation polling stations in the Transnistrian region of the Republic of Moldova.
